You May Be Experiencing Trauma from a number of situations:
Recent research in Neuroscience has discovered that the chronic stress from PTSD actually changes the physical brain and neuronal activity. To effectively treat this, the physical re-structuring of the brain must be considered, and treatment must focus on how to undo the physiological impact on the brain. Drawing from this latest research, I have developed a method of emotional re-experiencing that has the power to re-order the brain's physiology and thereby eliminate PTSD symptoms.
Christopher has helped me take incidents from my childhood that were too painful to even think about. And now I see them in a totally new way. They don't bother me at all like they use to. He did this by helping me feel the body sensations and painful feelings and by helping me with his caring and feel safe like he was right there with me...like he was with me as a kid when it happened... Whenever I told a therapist about my abuse, I could tell that they went away. Their eyes would glaze over or it seemed like they did not believe me...or they got angry at me. Christopher is the only therapist who has been able to really help me. He has a way to help me feel emotionally safe so that I could stay in my body and not go away. I didn't think it was possible after all the other therapists failed. Anonymous
Christopher told me from the beginning that he was sure he could help me. I didn't believe him but he kept reassuring me even when I wanted to quit because it was so hard to face those painful things. I still can't believe how much he cares about his patients getting better, but he does. Even when I would get angry and push him away he did not go away but stayed right there with me- just what I needed him to do. Anonymous
